| I have a '96TT with an acceleration problem (my wife has it when it works, I seem to have it for the moment if you get my meaning). Uner acceleration the car experiences brief and quite noticeable. I've replaced the MAS, cleaned the throttle bodies and ran a tank of fuel (I always run 91-93 octane) with a can of injector cleaner with no improvement. Yesterday I took ol' Betsy to the local Nissan dealer, and they're claiming she's leaning out due to a faulty knock sensor, which can be replaced to the tune of $1,800. I staggered around like Fred Sanford clutching his chest on that one. I started investigating this on tt.net and have discovered I can remotely place a new sensor and cable on the car for a couple hundred bucks in parts. Most awesome, that. The troubling part of all of this is the symptom doesn't seem to fall in place with tt.net posts I've read regarding knock sensor problems. If the hesitation is "safety boost", doesn't this engage and not reset until the car is restarted? My TT is hesitating back and forth under acceleration randomly.
